Been looking at a few auction sites, and rkmotorsauction.com seems more transparent than others. No weird subscription fees or anything. Anyone else have thoughts on how RK Motors Auction compares?

Totally agree. I've used a couple of the big national sites and got tired of the 'buyer's premium' nonsense. My experience with RKMotorsAuction was straightforward. Won a 2020 Challenger Scat Pack, paid the price I bid, and that was that.

Same here. I was super nervous about buying online, but RK Motors Auction was great. Got a '21 Honda CR-V for my daughter. The best part? The clear title arrived with the car. No chasing paperwork or dealing with the bank. So much less stressful than I expected.

I like RK Motors Auction's process, it's very clear. My only critique is I wish their inventory was a bit broader, especially for Class A motorhomes. Sometimes I check for weeks and nothing new in that category. But what they DO have is always accurately listed.

@RV_Nomad That's a fair point, they seem to be about quality over quantity. I'd rather have fewer, well-described vehicles than a huge junkyard list. Their search filter on the rkmotorsauction.com site is better than most.

100% this. A buddy of mine bought a Jeep Gladiator from them. I'm a mechanic and went over it from top to bottom for him. It was exactly what the inspection report on their site said. He was most impressed that a clear title showed up with the delivery driver, all bank stuff handled by RK Motors Auction. That's a huge plus.

Pro tip for anyone new: if you have a specific question about a vehicle, email them at office@rkmotorsauction.com before bidding. It took them a day to get back to me on a question about a Ram 2500, but the answer was very detailed and helped me decide to bid. I won it and am happy with the truck.

Yeah, their transparency is what sold me. Other sites feel like a gamble. With rkmotorsauction I felt like I knew what I was getting into. No surprises. Snagged a nice Sea Ray Sundancer last summer and it's been great.

The only minor issue I had was delivery. My Audi Q5 was scheduled for a Tuesday but arrived on Thursday. The driver did call me both days to give me an update, so it wasn't a huge deal, just made for a long couple of days waiting lol. Otherwise, loved the experience with RK Motors Auction.

@TacoRunner, looks like you got your answer lol. It's a solid place. Just be realistic, these are repossessed vehicles, not CPO from a dealer. But for what they are, RK Motors Auction does a good job presenting them honestly.

Can confirm. Other auction giants have those 'buyer premiums' that can add thousands. RKMotorsAuction is much more what-you-see-is-what-you-pay. Got a beautiful Lexus ES 350 for my wife, way below dealer prices.

@BigTuna77 how was the condition on your sundancer? I'm eyeing a Bennington pontoon on rkmotorsauction.com right now.

@WaterDog88 It was pretty much spot on with the pictures. A few small scuffs on the gelcoat that were clearly shown in the photos, but mechanically it was sound. Fired right up. No surprises, which is all you can really ask for with a repo boat.

Just adding my two cents. Bought a '22 Subaru Outback from RK Motors Auction six months ago. The whole process was smooth from bidding to delivery. Much better than trying to haggle at a dealership.

I use them for project cars. The descriptions on rkmotorsauction.com are better than most. You know if you're getting a runner or something that needs a tow. Saves a lot of headaches compared to those 'as-is, where-is' mystery box auctions.

@DieselDan that's good to know about the email! I just called them directly when I had a question about financing. The lady I spoke to was super patient with my million questions lol.

Wow, thanks for all the replies everyone! This is super helpful. The lack of hidden fees is the big draw for me. That story about the clear title is really reassuring, @sara_k_91. And @Offroad_Life, hearing a mechanic checked one out is great. Definitely feel more confident about putting a bid in with RK Motors Auction now.

Glad we could help. Just remember to factor in the shipping cost to your total. They're usually fair, but it's part of the total price. Good luck with your bid!

Got my 2019 Mustang GT convertible from RKMotorsAuction. There was one tiny scratch on the rear bumper that wasnt super visible in the pics but they mentioned it in the written description, so props to them for honesty. It's been my summer cruiser for a year now, zero problems.

Yeah, you'll be fine. Compared to the wild west of some other online auction sites, rkmotorsauction is a walk in the park. Way more professional.
